Chelsea have announced the mutual agreement to terminate the contract of Raheem Sterling. The veteran winger is now a free agent after not playing a single minute this season for the Blues.
In a statement released by the club on Wednesday, January 28, they thanked the 31-year-old for his three and a half years at the club and posted:
"Raheem Sterling has today departed Chelsea Football Club by mutual agreement, bringing to an end three-and-a-half seasons as our player, having signed in the summer of 2022 when he was transferred from Manchester City. We thank Raheem for the contribution he made while a Chelsea player and wish him well for the next stage in his career."

Chelsea signed Sterling in 2022 and was the first first-team signing made by the club under the new ownership for the Men's team. The Blues paid £47.5 million for him, and he has since played 81 times for the club, scoring 19 goals and assisting 15 times.
His last appearance for them came in the Premier League against AFC Bournemouth on the final day of the 2023/24 season. He was loaned out to Arsenal in the 2024/25 season, but failed to impress and seal a permanent move away.
