It looked to be only a matter of time before Oscar Bobb left Manchester City on a permanent basis. Now it has been reported that Fulham and Manchester City have agreed on a deal that will see Bobb join Marco Silva’s side. For Oscar Bobb, the opportunity is now there for him to establish himself as a first-team regular at Craven Cottage once the move is complete.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester City and Fulham have agreed on a deal that will Oscar Bobb sign for Fulham. Romano reports that Bobb will be sold for £27 million. Furthermore, Romano reports that City have a 20% sell-on clause included in the deal. They also have have matching rights included in the deal similar to the clause City had when they sold James Trafford to Burnley.
Oscar Bobb should now get the opportunity to play more often and prove himself at Fulham.
There’s no other way to put it: Oscar Bobb has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester City this season. Bobb started the season in City’s starting lineup. Unfortunately, his performances dropped off and other players have passed him by. Bobb has been on the periphery of City’s squad, and he needs the opportunity to play regularly to develop as a player. He won’t get that chance at City. Rayan Cherki, Antoine Semenyo, Jeremy Doku, Omar Marmoush, and Savinho all seem ahead of Bobb in the pecking order at City. A January move to Fulham should provide Bobb with the opportunity he needs to play regularly.
Bobb suffered a fractured leg on the eve of last season. That injury seems to have set him back in a major way. He looked set to establish himself as a City player last season; instead, he missed the majority of it. The young winger has never gotten to a point where he can establish himself as a first-team regular at City after that injury. It is a shame, but hopefully now Bobb can show how good a player he is at Fulham.
Oscar Bobb looks set to complete his move to Fulham in the coming days. The opportunity to play regularly is a welcome one for Bobb. If he can fulfill his potential at Fulham, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him return to Manchester City in the future.
