The Los Angeles Lakers' second-year forward is reportedly ready to seek a fresh start in the NBA ahead of the trade deadline.
Los Angeles Lakers / Schedule
According to Lakers insider Anthony Irwin, Dalton Knecht recently approached the Lakers' front office and requested a trade.
It's expected the team will grant his wish, as Knecht's name has been circulating in trade rumors for some time, dating back to last year's deadline when he was set to be traded to the Charlotte Hornets, but the deal ultimately fell through due to Mark Williams' failed physical.
Knecht's minutes have declined in his sophomore season with the Lakers, as he is averaging just 12 minutes per game across 36 games this season.
During that span, he is averaging 4.8 points and 1.6 rebounds while shooting 32% from three-point range.
