Manchester City’s Champions League hopes sit in the balance as they welcome Turkish side Galatasaray to the Etihad Stadium. Victory for the Blues should be enough to see them reach the top eight in the table and avoid a 2-legged play-off to reach the last 16.
They face a Galatasaray side who have been a thorn in English sides for a couple of decades, and the last English side beat the Turks was Arsenal back in 2014 when the Gunners won 4-1 in Istanbul.
As always, our team are here to give us their views and opinions on a nervy night in the Champions League. Here’s what we think this week.
A must win to get top 8. City will get it done. 3-1.
The stakes are high and City will be without Marc Guehi, Antoine Semenyo and Rodri.
But I think they’ll come out on top.
City are almost assured of making the knockouts after missing out last term. With a win, City could find themselves with an automatic entry in the round of 16. No Guehi, no Semenyo, no problem? The lads will need to defend better than they did above the Arctic Circle, and I think they will. Oh, and welcome home Mr. Whippy.
**City 3-1 The Fighting Gundogans**
Very tough match and considering Gundog will be back at the Etihad but this time for the opposition, it’ll be even harder. I’m going for a very close win for the Blues.
