According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Rockets center Steven Adams has undergone season-ending surgery on his left ankle.

Adams suffered the injury in the Rockets’ 119–110 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on January 18, after landing awkwardly on his left leg while contesting a Zion Williamson's shot.

Adams has been an important frontcourt enforcer for the Rockets this season, averaging 5.9 points and 8.6 rebounds in 22.7 minutes across 31 games.

His absence will be a significant blow to the Rockets’ center depth behind star big man Alperen Sengun, with Clint Capela expected to take on a larger role with Adams sidelined.
