Donnarumma for Manchester City

Manchester City did the job they needed to do in the final round of fixtures for the Champions League first phase as they beat Galatasaray at the Etihad. Erling Haaland put them on their way with an impressive chip over the goalkeeper and Rayan Cherki added to their lead before half an hour had been played.

Jeremy Doku limped off shortly after that in a blow for the Blues and they struggled to show poise in attack after that. Omar Marmoush, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Phil Foden and Tijjani Reijnders all could have scored to make City's qualification chances a little bigger before the match finished.

Here are the player ratings from the _Manchester Evening News_.

**Donnarumma:** One excellent save from Osimhen in the second half and kept his calm as others lost theirs before then. **8**

**Nunes:** Excellent bombarding down the right and some nice link-up play with Cherki, but also some risky moments. **7**

**Khusanov:** Mostly very good, with just the odd headrush that was never too costly yet set off Guardiola's jitters all the same. **7**

**Ake:** Was never going to win a foot race with Osimhen but never looked too troubled. **6**

**Ait-Nouri:** An excellent cross for Haaland and promising going forwards, but he missed a big chance and there were some confusing defensive choices. **6**

**O'Reilly:** Another solid outing as the defensive midfielder, showing his potential in there with City's injuries still troubling. **7**

**Cherki:** Got the important second goal and he was able to get City out of trouble at times, other times he played them into it. **7**

**Silva:** Too many sloppy balls in the first half that earned him rebukes from Guardiola, although he settled eventually. **6**

**Marmoush:** Added to City's threat up front, even if he should have done better with his second-half chances. **6**

**Doku:** City's best player to make sure they went two goals up, and a big loss when he went off early due to injury. **8**

**Haaland:** Missed a big chance early on but made up for it with the goal, and tried to set up plenty of his teammates. **7**

**Foden (for Doku, 37)** A few strong runs to try and make the game safe in the second half. **6**

**Reijnders (for Marmoush, 67)** A big clash of heads was his most notable moment. **6**

**Gonzalez (for Cherki, 82)** City will be delighted he is back. **6**

**Not used:** Trafford, Bettinelli, Alleyne, Lewis, Mfuni, Gray, Mukasa
