The Rockets currently stand in fourth place in the Western Conference, and the loss of Adams will be significant. He’s been averaging 5.8 points and 8.6 rebounds in 22.8 minutes per game in his role as the primary backup to Alperen Sengun. Houston will rely on Clint Capela and Jabari Smith Jr. to take up the slack in the middle when Sengun is not on the court.
Adams injury occurred on January 18 against the New Orleans Pelicans while contesting a shot, immediately holding his ankle after landing. He was helped off the court.
