Toronto Raptors forward Collin Murray-Boyles will return to the lineup Wednesday against the New York Knicks after missing time with a thumb injury.
Murray-Boyles missed the past four games with the ailment that he suffered in the team’s 110-93 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Jan. 18.
The exciting rookie, who was selected with the ninth overall pick in the NBA Draft in June, has averaged 7.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in 37 contests for the Raptors this season.
Earlier in January, he was named to the Rising Stars game at the All-Star Weekend, which will take place in Los Angeles in February.
With centre Jakob Poeltl nursing a back injury since the end of December, Murray-Boyles became a regular starter - often seeing time at centre - despite being a natural forward. He was a starter in his last nine games before going out with the thumb ailment.
The Raptors enter Wednesday’s matchup riding a four-game winning streak. Toronto has dropped 10 straight games against the Knicks dating back to Jan. 22, 2023. The winner of Wednesday’s game will take third place in the Eastern Conference standings.
