Boston didn't gain significant interest from their trade offer of Anfernee Simons, a first-round pick, and a future first-round pick swap to LA for Zubac.
The Boston Celtics have at least attempted to make a run for Ivica Zubac. Yet unfortunately, the Los Angeles Clippers aren't convinced enough to move on from their franchise big man.

In his latest report for HoopsHype, Michael Scotto revealed that the Celtics were rejected by the Clippers from their trade offer package that highlights Anfernee Simons.
"Conversely, if there was a notable center upgrade that could be attained while using Simons' expiring contract, it could appeal to the Celtics. When the Clippers were struggling with a 6-21 record to begin the season, the Celtics inquired about an exploratory framework around Simons, a first-round pick, and a future first-round pick swap for Ivica Zubac and salary filler, which didn’t gain any traction, league sources told HoopsHype."
It's been noted already that the Celtics are seriously canvassing the market for a big man following the offseason departures of Al Horford, Kristaps Porzingis and Luke Kornet. Besides, they are in a serious title contention as the No. 2 team in the current East standings with a 29-17 record.
Simons, who holds an expiring $27.6 million contract, stands as their reported main trade chip.
As the Clippers have reemerged out of their dramatic season turnaround, the Celtics can only look for any other enforcers available who can anchor their interior.
Zubac would have been tremendous for them, as the Croatian star is averaging 14.6 points and 10.9 rebounds in 40 games this season.
