The Miami Heat have been involved in numerous players throughout the league, and now they are showing interest in a very familiar name.
According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, "the (Golden State) Warriors have held direct conversations with the Miami Heat regarding former Dubs forward Andrew Wiggins."
Recent factors have played a role in the Warriors' regaining interest in the forward that helped lead Golden State to an NBA championship in 2022.
Warriors look to regain Andrew Wiggins after Jimmy Butler injury
Wiggins, 30, was traded from the Warriors to the Heat at the NBA trade deadline last season, but after the player Golden State acquired in the deal suffered a season-ending torn ACL, Jimmy Butler, Steve Kerr, and the team are attempting to bring back someone who already has built chemistry.
Siegel also mentioned that Miami could be seeking "at least a first-round pick" in exchange for Wiggins.
The former All-Star is owed $28.2 million this year and has a $30.1 million player option for the 2026-27 season.
In 43 appearances this season, Wiggins is averaging a consistent 15.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists, while adding 1.0 blocks and 1.2 steals per game. His defensive talents are still valuable while adding some offensive help as well.
Nobody is saying that the Warriors won't try to unload Jonathan Kuminga's $22.5 million deal that's attached to him in the deal as well. Currently, as it stands, Golden State is $11.6 million past the first apron and is right on the edge of passing the second.
