Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Ife Ibrahim, Josiah King and Jamaal Musiala that you guys may have missed…
Young full-back Josiah King said there was no better way to spend his 17th birthday than sign his first professional contract with Arsenal after seven years in the Gunners academy.
The attack-minded full-back has been with ARSENAL since under-10s, working his way through the age groups to put pen to paper on his senior contract.: “It’s something I’ve been dreaming about for a long time,” King said. “So it’s always good to achieve something that you’ve always wanted to achieve. So I’m happy about that.
“It’s a good day to celebrate my birthday. It’s in the top one birthdays, for sure.”
“They prepare you well to come to Colney [from Hale End], because I think especially the last season, bringing the under-16s over for day release, you already get a of a taste of what you’re going to get when you come here, so it’s good prep.
“I think they’ve got my best interests. They’ve taught me a lot. I’ve been here a long time, so I’m ready to continue the journey with them.”
“I think my playing style is a bit mixed with attacking and defending because I was naturally an attacker in the earlier stages. Then I started playing right back, midway through my journey. It’s a good balance between attacking and defending. I like to go 1v1 attacking and defending. It’s a good mixture.
“I think it’s a position where you can still show a lot of ways to express yourself. Whether that’s being up in the opposition’s half or getting out of tight spaces in your half as well. So it’s good.”
MUSIALA TALKS
There has been some shock reports in the media which have claimed that Arsenal are interested in signing Bayern Munich superstar Jamal Musiala, but can they actually sign the German superstar?
Musiala is one of the most dynamic, exciting and talented players in world football and a man that Bayern believe can get them back into the habit of winning that Champions League title.
However – there has been alot of speculation about his long-term future at Bayern Munich and it has been mentioned on many occasions that a move to the Premier League could happen, with a number of top clubs ready to splash the cash to try and get a transfer deal done.
According to insider Bayern Space. ARSENAL hierarchy have already held background talks over a possible deal for Musiala, with suggestions that a fee of £150 million would be good enough to secure the German star.
Contract and release clause dynamics
Musiala’s current contract reportedly includes a release clause of around €150 million for the summer 2026 window, which may sound like a clear price tag for interested clubs — but it remains an enormous figure for a midfielder, even in today’s inflated market.
Notably, that clause is set to decrease in future windows, with €135 million expected by 2027 — which many insiders now view as the more realistic departure window for Musiala should he ultimately leave Bayern.
Bayern’s stance and sporting project
Bayern Munich have publicly shown a desire to keep Musiala long-term, making him a central figure in their project as Bundesliga champions and Champions League contenders. Club leadership has praised his importance and repeatedly stressed they want to build around him.
That commitment makes any summer exit tough — particularly for a club outside the absolute very top of European football — even if Arsenal could theoretically match the release clause.
Would Musiala be interested in Arsenal?
Musiala has been open about being ‘open to everything’ when asked about his future, acknowledging that a move abroad — including to the Premier League — is not inconceivable. He’s expressed a willingness to take opportunities that come his way, although he’s also spoken about enjoyment and stability during his time at Bayern.
However, his contract extension and public comments about feeling at home in Munich complicate narratives that he’s desperate to leave. His deep connection with Bayern, where he rose to prominence after leaving England as a youngster, means that any exit would need the right project, challenge and personal motivation.
Interestingly, other clubs — including Barcelona, Manchester City, Liverpool and even Chelsea — have been linked with interest over the years, suggesting Musiala’s future could be shaped more by opportunity and context than any single club’s pursuit
IFE SIGNS UP
Ife Ibrahim described his first professional contract as a blessing and believes the Arsenal academy is the best place for him to be, after it was announced that the midfielder had agreed that deal.
The versatile midfielder joined ARSENAL at just seven years old and now, 11 years on, he put pen to paper on a first senior contract, and Ife was over the moon to continue his journey with the Premier League leaders.
He said: “I think it’s a blessing, you know, a great opportunity. Not many people get to sign a professional contract, so I’m very grateful and blessed to be here.
“I came here when I was at the age of seven. I went through the pre-academy stage and then got signed at the age of nine. I’ve been here ever since.
“I always say it’s a privilege. Arsenal’s a very big club, so I’m very blessed to be here and continue my journey and make it.
“I think the environment is very good here. The people around me are very nice, very caring. The coaches want to work with you and are willing to improve you, so I thought this was the right decision.”
“I play, at the moment, centre defensive mid. I like to start the attack, break lines, intercept and drive with the ball.
He [Declan Rice] gives me tips and always tells me great stuff, so I think I look up to him most in the first team. He’s just great, he’s a great guy and has helped me integrate into the squad.”
IcFootballnews Says…
