Chelsea are preparing a club-record offer for a "world-class" star, with his current club now open to a sale.
Blues planning to smash transfer record
The Blues have been in fantastic form over the past few weeks, winning four of Liam Rosenior's first five matches in charge in all competitions, and they secured progression to the last 16 of the Champions League with a 3-2 victory away at Napoli on Wednesday.
Rosenior's side were 2-1 down at half-time, but a second-half Joao Pedro brace turned the game on its head, and the manager was very impressed with the Brazilian's all-round performance, saying: "The two goals are fantastic but the way he held the ball up for the team, the way he sprinted and started that press, the harder you work the better you are as a player and I’m very, very happy to have Joao in our team."
It has been a brilliant start to the Rosenior era, but there is still plenty of work to do, with the west Londoners no closer to competing for the Premier League title this season, currently sitting in fifth place, 13 points behind leaders Arsenal.
As such, some new additions may be needed, if Chelsea are to become title contenders next season, and they are now preparing to blitz their transfer record by signing Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham.
That is according to a report from Spain, which reveals BlueCo are now preparing a €150m (£130m) bid for the central midfielder, which would eclipse the £115m they spent on Moises Caicedo back in the summer of 2023.
Jude Bellingham
Interestingly, the report states Real Madrid are now willing to sanction a departure, should they receive an offer that is too good to turn down, and the Stamford Bridge outfit are now prepared to break the bank to get a deal over the line.
"World-class" Bellingham would be statement signing for Chelsea
In truth, it is somewhat difficult to envisage the Englishman moving to Stamford Bridge, given that the Blues aren't currently title contenders, but if they do manage to get a deal done, he would be a real statement signing.

The Blues are locked in negotiations...
Earlier this season, former Chelsea man Jody Morris described the Madrid star as "world-class", and insisted he has to start for the Three Lions at the World Cup next summer.
Still only 22-years-old, the former Birmingham City man has established himself as a key player for Madrid over the past three seasons, regularly contributing with goals and assists in La Liga.
