Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Brajan Gruda has admitted he wants to play for Liverpool, or another European giant, in future.
Sky Germany have an interview with the Brighton midfielder today. He doesn’t hold back in admitting his future transfer desires.
The 21-year-old joined the Seagulls in a €31.5m deal in 2024, having established himself as a rising star in the Bundesliga.
He’s still considered as much back in Germany despite not yet establishing himself fully with the Seagulls. He so far has four goals and eight assists in 45 games for them since his arrival. This season, he’s been in the starting eleven just 35% of the time, playing the same amount of minutes.
But that’s not stopping him from dreaming big. And he’s happy to admit he has his eyes on Liverpool and other European giants.
“My biggest dream is to play in the Champions League and be a full international. I want to play for a top club like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, or Liverpool,” he said.
The mention of Bayern Munich is certainly an interesting one. The midfielder had the opportunity to join the German giants before moving to Brighton.
Bayern regularly scoop up talent in the Bundesliga when it emerges and Gruda was one on their list as a result. The Brighton man admits to interest being made clear.
“Of course, there was interest at the beginning. But I can’t say more than that,” he added.

Instead, it was the Seagulls that secured his signature 18 months ago. Their willingness to pay what Mainz demanded at the time was certainly a factor. For the player, though, there were other deciding elements to the move.
“The deciding factor for me was that the club and the manager wanted me,” he concluded.
“That was a very good sign when I arrived. I was very impressed with the training facilities, the staff, and the manager. That’s what led me to come here.”
Maybe not for long.
