Leeds team news as forward joins injured list ahead of Arsenal's visit

Lucas Nmecha will miss Leeds United's game at home to Arsenal on Saturday, with defenders Jaka Bijol and Gabirel Gudmundsson not yet ready to return from injury.

All are short-term concerns, and nothing that will change Daniel Farke's thinking about the transfer market, but they do reduce his options against the team top of both the Premier League and the Champions League group phase, which concluded on Wednesday.

"Jaka will definitely also miss the Arsenal game," confirmed Farke. "He's progressing in his rehab.

"We hope to have him back, probably on the other side of the Nottingham (Forest) game. Perhaps there's even a little chance that he is involved already for Nottingham

"We'll also miss Lucas Nmecha. He reported during the warm-up at Everton some problems with his hamstring. This was also the reason I didn't bring him on.

"Of course, I would have been tempted to bring him on with this momentum after his decisive goal against Fulham.

"It's not a major thing. We have assessed him. He will also definitely miss the Arsenal game.

"But we hope that we have him perhaps back for Nottingham rather than on the other side of the Nottingham game. But he will definitely miss the Arsenal game.

"Gabi Gudmundsson has progressed further on, so much better than expected. He was not in team training yet so far, but we have obviously two more days. There's perhaps even a little chance that he makes it also for this game."

Daniel James is back in training after being injured since the Manchester City game at the end of November.
