Newcastle United transfer target Brooke Norton-Cuffy has been the subject of enquiries from Everton and one other Premier League team in recent days, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Speaking alongside fellow reporter Matteo Moretto on his Italian-language YouTube channel, Romano said that the Genoa right-back could move back to England before the transfer window closes on Monday evening:
“Everton is one of the teams closely monitoring Norton-Cuffy’s situation. We have no news on Inter at the moment, despite the widespread discussion. We don’t know if Inter have made contact with Genoa. However, be careful, as Everton and another English club have made inquiries regarding Norton-Cuffy, so he could be one of the names to follow from now until the end [of the window].”

It was reported by GiveMeSport a couple of weeks ago that the Magpies, along with Everton and West Ham, were keeping tabs on the fullback.
Why are Newcastle interested in Norton-Cuffy?
Tino Livramento has been ruled out until March with a hamstring injury, and Kieran Trippier is expected to leave St James’ Park when his contract expires this summer.
That means there is scope for bringing in another right-back, not only to provide cover in the short-term, but for the long term as well.
Genoa are reportedly demanding around €20m (£17m) for Norton-Cuffy, and it remains to be seen if the Magpies are willing to stump up the cash now. Manager Eddie Howe has previously played down the prospect of a player arriving before the deadline next week.
Arsenal will have a say in the transfer
Norton-Cuffy was sold by the Gunners to Genoa for an initial £1.7m in August 2024, with an additional £1.7m due in performance-related bonuses.
However, speaking alongside Romano, Moretto confirmed that the Premier League leaders not only have a 20% sell-on clause, but there is a “buyback” option too.
At the moment, there’s no indication that the club wants Norton-Cuffy back, so Newcastle’s main rival for the defender‘s signature appears to be Everton.
