Marcus Rashford makes stunning Barcelona admission
Rashford might not have been openly unprofessional in the summer to force a move away from United, but he did all he could behind the scenes to force United’s hand.
He had his mind set at Barcelona, and his form is vindicating that stance, but it doesn’t mean that potshots at United are fair game.
Rashford hasn’t shied away from calling out United’s unstable environment as a reason behind his failure, and his latest claim goes a step further.

After starring in Barcelona’s 4-1 victory against Copenhagen by scoring a free-kick, Rashford was asked about what’s changed at Barcelona, and how he deals with the demands made by Hansi Flick.
Flick’s high line is famous for asking a lot of his attackers, in terms of pressing high and playing with intensity. Rashford had an interesting answer to how he adjusted.
He said: “For the front guys, we have to put as much pressure on the ball as possible. It brings an intensity to the game. When we play at this intensity, it’s difficult for teams to match us.
For me, it takes a little bit of learning to get used to because you can’t let [the opposition] rest on the ball. You have to always put pressure. It’s a little bit different from what I’ve done before.
For Rashford to say that simply playing with intensity and pressing high is “different to what I’ve done before” says it all.
After all, four permanent managers at Old Trafford fell on the sword trying to get him to do the exact same thing.
Rashford has just exposed his Man Utd exit truth
It’s easy to look at Rashford’s form at Barcelona and wonder if he could return to United next season, but his latest stunning claim puts rest to that theory.
With him, it’s no longer about “if he can do well at United,” it’s about if he wants to do well at United, and going by his latest claims, he clearly doesn’t.

What four managers – Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Erik ten Hag, and Ruben Amorim – couldn’t get him to do at United is something he’s doing for Flick from day one.
It’s clear that it was never about the manager at United or their playing style. He had simply switched off on the prospect of playing for the club, and his less-than-intense efforts were visible on the pitch.
For him to accept that playing with a high intensity and pressing from the front is “different” to what he’s done before says everything about how he saw his role at United.
That dissonance won’t go away if he returns to the club in the summer because it’s a matter of personal desire, not a tactical or talent shortcoming.
