£52m Chaos: Arsenal Facing Another Gyokeres Type Problem

The Premier league leaders Arsenal are another problem similar to Gyokeres. They are in a big trouble after that defeat against Man United. The Premier league leaders Arsenal faced off against Man United in the latest gameweek’s main event. The match was an absolute thriller which ended up in a 2-3 win for the Red Devils. United’s new manager Michael Carrick did an amazing job as he completely outplayed Arteta. United’s win gave Manchester City a hope as currently Arsenal have only four points more than City. Arsenal will take a trip to Elland Road for their next fixture. It would be interesting to see how Arteta manages the team for their next game.

Arsenal may look fluid in the Champions League, but in the Premier League, they are most certainly not, and the numbers prove as much. For example, while the Gunners have scored a pretty impressive 42 goals so far, which is the second most in the league. Only 22 of them have come in open play, which is just the eighth best. Now, some might say it doesn’t matter how the goals come, but the last three games, in which the North Londoners had one goal go in their favour. Also an own goal at that, suggest otherwise. Looking deeper into the statistics, things become even more interesting, as, according to FOTmob, Arteta’s side have amassed an expected goals figure of 40.5 across the season so far. While that is the fourth most in the league. It is only 1.1 expected goals fewer than top scorers Manchester City. Moreover, the Gunners have taken an average of 4.9 shots on target per match. Compared to City’s 5.1; created 68 big chances, compared to City’s 73; and missed 46, compared to City’s 48.

Madueke and Gyokeres in Arsenal vs United game

Arsenal dominated the opening exchanges but needed a slice of luck to open the scoring. Bukayo Saka clipped the ball back to Martin Odegaard in the penalty area and his shot was inadvertently flicked past Senne Lammens in the Manchester United goal by Martinez. The Cameroon star pounced on a poor back from Martin Zubimendi and kept his composure to round goalkeeper David Raya and slot home to make it 1-1. Fernandes fed Dorgu the ball. He unleashed an unstoppable volley that flew past Raya and into the net off the bar from just outside the penalty area. Mikel Arteta responded by making four changes to his team, sending on Ben White, Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze and Mikel Merino in search of an equaliser. Noni Madueke followed shortly afterwards as the Gunners struggled to carve out clear-cut chances. Perhaps inevitably, the equaliser came from a set piece. Merino bundled home from close range after Lammens failed to punch clear a corner to make it 2-2. Yet the response from the Red Devils was swift and deadly. Cunha picked up possession and curled another unstoppable finish past Raya to secure a memorable three points for the visitors.

Fan’s reaction

The Arsenal are not at all happy with the performance of Noni Madueke. Madueke’s performance lately haven’t been good and the fans letting the player know about their anger. Arsenal are on course for winning the Premier league but their run was halted due to the poor performances of Gyokeres and Noni. The fans are concerned with the problems their club is facing lately. Although they believe that their coach Arteta will definitely make the things better in the next games.
