Giannis Antetokounmpo's Mom Sparks Trade Buzz With New Photo

Giannis Antetokounmpo might have a preferred landing spot if he's dealt ahead of the trade deadline.

Before the start of the 2025-26 season, there were rumblings that Antetokounmpo would request a trade from the Milwaukee Bucks. He's tried to make things work this season, but he has reached his breaking point. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Bucks are finally expected to field trade offers for the two-time MVP.

"Sources said Antetokounmpo has informed the Bucks for months that he believes the moment has come to part ways after 12-plus years together, making a trade increasingly possible," Charania said. "The Bucks, at 18-27 and 12th in the Eastern Conference, face significant questions about their future direction, which has led to open and honest conversations between the two sides."

The Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks have been mentioned as "serious suitors" for Antetokounmpo.

Although a trade isn't imminent at this time, Antetokounmpo's mother may have revealed his preferred landing spot.

Veronica Antetokounmpo posted a photo of her son standing on the court at the Kaseya Center, the home of the Miami Heat. She shared this old image on Facebook after Charania reported that Antetokounmpo could be on the move.

While this could mean absolutely nothing, NBA fans are convinced Antetokounmpo wants to take his talents to South Beach.

What can the Heat offer for Giannis?

If the Heat are serious about acquiring Antetokounmpo, they'll probably have to offer a package that includes Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware and draft picks.

Herro, the 2021-22 Sixth Man of the Year, is averaging 21.9 points per game for the Heat this season. He'd be the main piece going back to Milwaukee in this trade. Make no mistake though, Ware has proven himself to be a double-double machine for Miami.

The NBA trade deadline is on Feb. 5. We'll see if the Bucks actually trade away the face of their franchise.
