Newcastle United made five changes and changed their formation for the Champions League draw with Paris Saint-Germain.
Eddie Howe has hinted at Newcastle United making further changes for the Premier League trip to Liverpool.
Amid calls to ditch his favoured 4-3-3 system, the Toon boss drastically overhauled his team for the Paris Saint-Germain clash. Newcastle reverted to a back five, with a quintet of fresh faces given their chance to shine.
The likes of Jacob Ramsey and Joe Willock shone as the Magpies earned a 1-1 draw at the Parc des Princes. With the game versus Liverpool just 48 hours away, Newcastle are expected to tweak the starting line-up again.
Eddie Howe drops Newcastle United hint
Speaking after the PSG game, Howe hinted at making more changes as Newcastle aim to end a 32-year winless run at Anfield. He told reporters: "The Premier League is such a strong league it can only make you better. The games we play week in week out are so tough.
"We do have a good squad. We made changes today that we needed to make. We might need to make some more for Liverpool because in no time at all we're back at Anfield."
‘We belong’ - Eddie Howe
Howe also praised his players for showing that they “belong” in the Champions League. While a draw was not enough to secure an automatic spot in the last 16, Newcastle’s valiant performance against the European champions showed they can hang with the best.

"I think we're showing (we belong),” Howe added. “We've been pleased with what we've delivered. There's a slight frustration that we haven't been able to get over the line in some games. But this is the real acid test for us, coming here against the holders of the competition. I thought we performed really well.
"We went all out to try and win the game. We chased it as much as we could without leaving us the possibility of losing. We tried everything we could to try to make the top eight.
"It's such an unbelievable competition to be in and we never take it for granted. We want to appreciate it, and the work we've put into getting here… we don't want to throw it away.”
