The NBA season is unforgiving. Eighty two regular season games -- not to mention travel and limited days for rest and recovery.
Luka Doncic is starting to feel the weight of the Los Angeles Lakers' road schedule.
Following Wednesday night's blowout loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Doncic caught up with Donovan Mitchell before heading to the locker room. The Cavs guard asked Doncic where the Lakers were playing next on their current eight-game road trip.
"I have no idea," Doncic told Mitchell, who let out a smile and chuckle. NBA on ESPN posted a clip of the duo's conversation on Instagram.
Next stop: The nation's capital
To answer Mitchell's question, the Lakers travel to Washington, D.C., for a matchup against the Wizards on Friday night. They finish off the road trip in New York against the Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets.
Based on Doncic's response to Mitchell, the 2023-24 scoring champion may be ready for the All-Star break.
Doncic ranks in the top five in the NBA in minutes per game, averaging 36.3 per night. He avoided serious injury in the first quarter of Wednesday's game after landing off the elevated part of Cleveland's court following a shot attempt.
