Oklahoma City Thunder guard Luguentz Dort and New Orleans Pelicans guard Jeremiah Fears have each been fined $25,000 for their roles in an on-court altercation on Tuesday.
With just 0.2 seconds remaining and the Thunder clinching a 104-95 win, Fears attempted a late layup. Dort aggressively contested the shot, appearing to foul Fears in the process.
Immediately after the final buzzer, Dort confronted Fears and grabbed his jersey. The two engaged in a shoving match as players and staff members from both teams entered the court.
As players ultimately left the court, Fears was caught livid and being restrained by two Pelicans staffers from trying to re-engage with Dort.
Both the Thunder and the Pelicans won't meet again, as the former swept the regular-season series at 3-0.
A playoff encounter is unlikely as the Thunder are sitting atop the league with a 38-10 record. The Pels are at the bottom of the standings with a 12-37 record.
