Hawks unwilling to part ways with their star in potential Giannis trade

The Atlanta Hawks reportedly are unwilling to part with Jalen Johnson in a potential deal for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Atlanta Hawks have been mentioned as one of the sneaky teams that could potentially be in the mix to land Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo in a trade.

However, they reportedly would not be willing to part ways with their star forward in such a deal.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Hawks have no interest in trading away 24-year-old Jalen Johnson.

"The Hawks do have control of Milwaukee's picks in the next two drafts but have shown no interest to date in surrendering control of them. The Hawks are likewise said to be unwilling to surrender Jalen Johnson in a theoretical Antetokounmpo deal," Stein reports.

"Even though Johnson's agent, Rich Paul, said in one of his recent podcasts that the Milwaukee native is precisely whom the Bucks should target," he adds.

Johnson has blossomed into one of the top two-way players in the league this season and is shaping up as a potential franchise player for the Hawks in the years to come.

In 44 games this season, he’s averaging 22.8 points, 10.4 rebounds, 8 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.
