Arsenal interest resurfaces – Brazilian wonderkid’s camp hold talks in London

Arsenal are now part of the conversation regarding Palmeiras teenager Eduardo Conceição. New information from Brazil claims the player’s camp had a meeting in London this week.

According to Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola, the 16-year-old attacking midfielder had already been sounded out by Arsenal in the past. Nicola is clear that there is still no official confirmation of a move.

Even so, he reports that Eduardo’s representatives met with a Premier League club in London on Wednesday. While the club’s name remains confidential, Nicola says Arsenal are the only English side previously linked to the player in Brazil.

Palmeiras see him as a top-level prospect

Eduardo is regarded as one of the standout prospects at Palmeiras, despite not having made his senior debut. He wore the number 10 shirt at the Brazilian Youth Cup, a tournament heavily monitored by European scouts. That is likely where Arsenal and others have monitored him.

Inside the club, Palmeiras have treated him as a long-term asset for some time. Concerned about foreign interest, they extended his contract months ago and placed him among the highest earners in their academy setup.

On the pitch, Eduardo fits the profile of a modern number 10. He mainly plays as an attacking midfielder but can drift wide or drop deeper to shape the build-up. He stands out for his close control, agility in tight spaces and confidence in one-on-one situations.

Eduardo plays with his head up, links play quickly and takes responsibility in the final third. At youth level, he has also shown strong decision-making around the box, balancing creativity with a direct goal threat.

Barcelona interest and contract details

Alongside Arsenal’s past approach, Barcelona continue to monitor Eduardo closely. Nicola notes that the player’s parents recently received shirts from the Spanish club, which underlines the growing European attention.

Eduardo’s release clause stands at £86m (€100m), with Palmeiras holding 80% of the economic rights to any future sale. Palmeiras president Leila Pereira reportedly believes he could follow the path of major recent departures such as Estevão, sold to Chelsea, and Endrick, now at Real Madrid. In fact, Endrick’s father is his agent.

For now, Arsenal’s position remains unofficial, but Nicola’s reporting suggests this is a situation worth watching closely.
