Steve Kerr gives an update on his future with the Warriors

Steve Kerr said his future coaching the Warriors beyond this season remains undetermined.

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is still undecided about his future with the team.

Speaking to Anthony Slater ESPN, Kerr said he isn't leaning one way or the other on whether he will return for a 13th season coaching the Warriors.

Kerr did not seek a contract extension entering the season and believes the open-ended nature of his future is healthiest for both sides.

"Let's wait until the end of the year and see if everybody's aligned," Kerr said.

"If we are, then we'll keep going. If not, then we wont. [It'll depend on] how the season ends, what the future looks like — all of that factors in. And they, meaning Joe [Lacob] and management, have a lot to think about. It's a really interesting time for the organization."

Since taking over in 2014, Kerr has led the Warriors to four NBA titles in seven NBA Finals appearances.

This season, especially after the injury to their star Jimmy Butler, the Warriors' chances of competing for a title look very slim. They are currently sitting eighth in the Western Conference with a 27–22 record.
