Is Scoot Henderson close to returning? Major injury update on Blazers guard

Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson has been cleared to participate in contact drills at practice and is in the final stages of his recovery from the hamstring tear that's kept him out since training camp.

Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson is nearing his season debut after recovering from the hamstring tear that has kept him out since training camp.

Portland Trail Blazers / Schedule

Although there is still no clear timeline for his return, Blazers insider Sean Highkin reports that Henderson has been cleared to participate in contact drills at practice and is in the final stages of his recovery.

Portland originally estimated a four-to-eight-week window for his return to basketball activities, though hamstring injuries are notoriously unpredictable.

Last season, the 21-year-old former second overall draft pick averaged 12.7 points, 3 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in around 26 minutes per game.

Without him, the Trail Blazers are currently sitting ninth in the Western Conference with a 23–25 record.
