Rounding up the biggest new Premier League transfer rumours - with news from Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Everton.

Another day of January gossip has been and gone, and to help you keep up with everything that’s happening we’re back with our latest regular round-up and review of some of the biggest – and wildest - Premier League transfer rumours which you might have missed.

We start with a story from Caught Offside which suggests that both Arsenal and Liverpool are considering an “ambitious” move for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, who could apparently cost as much as €100m (£86.5m).

Liverpool’s interest in the Frenchman is said to be “serious,” while Arsenal are merely “one to watch” should a bidding war break out – but either way, the report acknowledges that there is uncertainty as to whether Real Madrid would be willing to sell the 23-year-old.

Liverpool are said to be “further ahead in their pursuit” of the player, who is not said to be agitating for a move away from the Bernabeu as it stands. This is certainly a deal that would take place in the summer, rather than January, and one which may be difficult to pull off whenever the bidding takes place with “initial contacts” from suitors said to have been rebuffed.

The 3AM Verdict: Certainly not a deal which is going to take place in the current transfer window, and one which we’re not convinced takes place at all. Arsenal don’t need another starter in midfield in the foreseeable future, while Liverpool may find cheaper, more easily obtainable players are on the market when the next transfer window comes around. We’re sceptical that either team gets their hands on Camavinga any time soon.

Manchester United ‘stepping up’ left-back search

Let’s head over to a story from TeamTalk now, which alleges that Manchester United are “stepping up” their hunt for a new left-back and are “sending senior scouts” to watch Eintracht Frankfurt and Germany star Nathaniel Brown.

The 22-year-old has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester City as well, but it’s United who are said to be “carrying out details checks” on the player and looking into the viability of a deal. Apparently left-back is now considered one of the three key needs by United’s director of football Jason Wilcox.

Apparently any deal for Brown will cost “in excess of £40m” and this doesn’t sound like a deal which they’ll attempt to get done before the summer. There’s no word on whether other interested parties will come forward, or on what the player’s own preferences are for his future career.

The 3AM Verdict: It’s eminently plausible that United make a move for Brown, although we’d be surprised if they were the only team in the mix – as suggested in the article, though, this would surely be a summer deal rather than one which happens before the current window closes. The article is speculative by its very nature, but we wouldn’t be at all surprised if United were the frontrunners for the talented full-back when summer does come around.

Everton could be close to ‘ideal transfer scenario’

Let’s finish things up with a story for the Everton fans reading – according to Sport Witness, the Toffees could be presented with their “ideal transfer scenario” with right-back target Brooke Norton-Cuffy potentially now available on loan.

Stories from Italy suggest that Everton are “poised to strike” to sign the Arsenal academy graduate, who currently plays for Genoa, but also that he could be available on a short-term deal with Juventus and Inter Milan also interested in the 22-year-old, who played a key role in England Under-21’s successful European Championship campaign last summer.

Apparently Everton have been “reluctant” to make a permanent bid – which could set them back as much as £20m – because they want to save their money for the summer, but a loan deal could suit them down to the ground, with Genoa now apparently “open” to such a scenario, with a purchase clause included which would bring the price up to their valuation down the line.

The 3AM Verdict: It’s worth noting that Tuttomercato, one of the sources used for this report, only discuss Juventus and Inter’s interest and not Everton’s, although the club have been linked with Norton-Cuffy among other full-back targetssuch as Emil Holm. This is definitely a possible deal, but don’t be surprised if other sides, perhaps including Spurs, also enter the fray and complicate matters.
