"We'd have won that game if he was playing" - Ian Wright claims Arsenal would have defeated Manchester United if one Red Devils star was involved

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has made a bold claim about Manchester United's win over the Gunners in the Premier League last weekend. He believes that Mikel Arteta's side would have won the game if Andre Onana was in goal for the Red Devils instead of Senne Lammens.

The Manchester United goalkeeper made three key saves in the same, and followed it up with three punches and as many high claims. He played a key role in the 3-2 win and Wright believes that the new signing made all the difference.

Speaking on The Overlap's Stick To Football podcast, Wright said that Onana would not have helped Manchester United get the win. He praised the new signing and said:

"The goalkeeper made some good saves at the start. That's what it is. I tell you what, I think we win that game if Onana was playing, absolutely!"

Paul Scholes claimed that Arsenal would be the worst side to win the Premier League title, and Wright was furious with the comments. He hit back at the Manchester United legend and said:

"If we win it, we’ll win it with more than 77 (it was actually 75) points like you lot (United) won it. ****’s sake, Scholesy. Is that my mate there? Reading this, (I’m thinking) that’s my mate…”

Arsenal have 50 points from their 23 matches, while Manchester United have 38 points and sit fourth in the table.

Gary Neville does not back Michael Carrick for Manchester United job despite win over Arsenal

Gary Neville has claimed that Manchester United should not offer Michael Carrick the job in the summer. He echoed the comments from Roy Keane, saying that he wants the club to bring an experienced coach and said:

"Michael shouldn't get the job at the end of the season, in my opinion. And I'm saying this really unemotionally, right? It's nothing to do with what two weeks ago, where to be fair, I agree with Roy, that no one would have mentioned Michael for the job, right? If you're going to earn your stripes and manage one of the biggest clubs in the world and handle the pressure that's going to be thrown at you, I think you have to have that years of experience personally."

Carrick was appointed this month following the sacking of Ruben Amorim. He has won his first two matches in charge, against Manchester City and Arsenal.
