Nick Nurse believes the Philadelphia 76ers got away with a lucky win against the Kings

The Philadelphia 76ers have won two games in a row after their embarrassing 130-93 loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Monday. Their latest win was against the Sacramento Kings on Thursday, thanks to Tyrese Maxey's game-winner.

It was a huge result for the 76ers because it keeps them in the sixth seed. However, this was not the best result for Philly because head coach Nick Nurse is not a fan of how they won the game.

Nurse believes the 76ers could do better with their performances

As a former champion coach, Nurse knows the standard for success in the NBA. Most teams would always get scrappy wins like the 76ers did against the Kings on Thursday.

However, it is not a sustainable model if they want to succeed in the Eastern Conference. It has become a competitive field more and more with each passing week.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks seem to be picking up steam, which is a significant blow for a team like the 76ers that is chasing.

Against the Kings, the 76ers had some big problems. The most significant was their rebounding, as they only grabbed 24 boards, while the Kings nearly doubled their total with 46. Luckily, the 76ers won the game, but Nurse was unhappy about that.

"I think we’re pretty lucky, to be honest with you, that we got out of there with a W... Not very good on the glass, not very good in transition, not very good on defense," Nurse said after the game to the Philadelphia media.

"We’re pretty fortunate to get out of there with a win tonight."

Moving forward, the 76ers need to address some of their issues, including rebounding. Andre Drummond only played four minutes against the Kings, and Nurse could have put him in to resolve those rebounding troubles.

The 76ers have some issues, which come down to both the players and the coach. Nurse can call out the players, but he also has some work to do. It will be a challenging road ahead, but the 76ers have the talent to compensate.
