Ja Morant's rumored health diagnosis is going viral online. Some TikTok pages claimed recently that the Memphis Grizzlies guard is allegedly diagnosed with lung cancer. This led to confusion amongst fans.

Ja Morant does not have lung cancer. The rumor stemmed from a fake TikTok edit. The user Templex shared a false, altered tweet of the basketball player. In it, Jamel Morant reportedly said that he would not be able to play this season due to a lung cancer diagnosis. The fake tweet also included a Bible verse.

The TikTok edit garnered over 100,000 views and nearly 4,000 likes on the video-sharing platform. While some fans believed the claim and prayed for him, others called out Templex for creating fake news. In response, Templex said that they were not sure of the rumor and are not confident in its authenticity.

"If this is true i hope ja gets better man nobody deserves this whats so ever in jesus name lets all pray for ja to get better," one TikTok user wrote.

"He doesn't have lung cancer it was fake af, how do people fall for this," another user added.

Ja Morant injured his elbow recently

The fake rumor of the basketball player's cancer diagnosis could be related to his recent injury. Morant's left elbow had an ulnar collateral ligament injury during the Memphis Grizzlies and Atlanta Hawks match on January 21.

Days later, on January 24, the Memphis Grizzlies released a statement on X, sharing that Ja Morant would make a full recovery and would undergo a reevaluation approximately three weeks later.

Meanwhile, Morant returned to play this month after a right calf contusion. He missed six consecutive games this month. This season, the basketball player missed 25 of the Memphis Grizzlies' 45 games.

Fans have expressed their frustration online. They called out Ja Morant for getting injured again, jokingly saying the team had a "curse." Some even shared that they bought tickets and were let down by the sudden news of his injury.

"Is this a curse or something? Last year we were last in expected wins compared to real wins, gap year a szn before that, now despite injury plagued roster we are competitive every night but keep losing in the clutch. At this point you just gotta laugh it off," one fan wrote on X

"I have gotten tickets to both games that the Grizzlies play over here where I live in Portland for the last three years and Ja Morant hasn't played in any of them. They play over here February 6 and 7 so he is probably going to be injured again," another X user noted.
