Report: Chelsea summer signing accused of 'nighttime outings' and 'lack of professionalism'

Chelsea made a whole host of summer signings to help Enzo Maresca build on winning the Club World Cup, but not all of them have worked out.

Enzo Maresca would have had high hopes for the new season after picking up two pieces of silverware, but things didn’t go entirely to plan.

After a poor run in December, Chelsea decided to part ways with Maresca and wasted no time in bringing Liam Rosenior in from Strasbourg.

During his time in France, he had the pleasure of working with a few Chelsea players in the form of Mike Penders, Kendry Paez and Mamadou Sarr.

Arguably, the most hyped of the three was Paez, who had just joined the Blues in the summer after turning 18 years of age.

However, his spell in France seems to have done more harm than good.

Be honest: If Estevao avoids injuries, is he actually destined to be GREATER than Eden Hazard?

Kendry Paez had disciplinary issues during his time at Strasbourg

Chelsea fans heard the news that Kendry Paez is set to join River Plate after Chelsea agreed to terminate his loan.

This originally came as a surprise, but now it’s starting to make more sense.

According to L’Equipe, Paez encountered some disciplinary issues at Strasbourg.

It states that he had nighttime outings, a lack of professionalism and focus, as well as being poorly advised.

Someone needs to put their arm around Kendry Paez

Let’s not forget that Kendry Paez is still a teenager who has suddenly come under the spotlight after his big move to Chelsea.

He’s doing what any teenager would do, going out and partying. But the one thing he needs to realise is that if he wants to make it as a footballer, he needs to take things seriously.

Cole Palmer has already been talking to Paez about his long-term future at the club, and Reece James also sees his potential; he just needs the right people around him.

A move back to South America should help him settle a little easier and release some of the pressure from playing in Europe, but it’s down to him to change.
