Talks Underway:£65m Arsenal&Chelsea Target Close to Five-Year Deal as January Window Nears End

One of the main transfer targets for Arsenal and Chelsea is currently in talks over signing a five year deal before the end of January.

Mikel Arteta is yet to see any new players though the door this month, as Arsenal are already very happy with their current squad, considering they’re top of the Premier League and Champions League table.

The Gunners head into their game against Leeds this weekend, not planning to make any major signings, but they could be forced into it.

One of their top transfer targets, who is also wanted by rivals Chelsea, is currently in talks over a new contract, so they may be forced to make a move, to try and secure him before the end of the window.

Arsenal face late-window pressure as negotiations accelerate over a £65m deal

Arsenal have been linked to signing Juventus star, and Turkish international Kenan Yildiz, who has been one of the best attackers in the Serie A this season. Yildiz has scored nine goals, and provided eight assists for Juventus in all competitions this year.

The 20-year-old has been linked to both Arsenal and Chelsea, but the two Premier League clubs could be on alert now as Sky Sports Germany report that Juventus are in talks with Yildiz over a new contract, to keep him at the club until 2031.

It is understood that Juventus are desperate to keep hold of the Turkish forward, as they view him as a key player for now, and for the future. It is also understood that Yildiz is very happy at Juventus, and he has no plans to leave, so it looks as though Arsenal and Chelsea may need to look elsewhere for a new attacker.

If they were to make a move for him before the end of the January window, they would have to fork out a lot of money, as he has an estimated market value of £65m, and Juventus don’t want to sell him, so it could push closer and closer to a £100m fee.
