Chelsea have missed out on another signing as the January transfer window draws to a close.
Liam Rosenior appears to be putting faith in the squad already at his disposal, as a centre-back and central midfield signing is getting no closer.
The pursuit of Douglas Luiz was abandoned early, which suggests Chelsea will rely on the likes of Reece James, Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo to fill the gaps.
Be honest: If Estevao avoids injuries, is he actually destined to be GREATER than Eden Hazard?

Aaron Anselmino has also been recalled at the heart of the defence. A possible ploy in case a deal for Jeremy Jacquet doesn’t go through before the deadline.
An attacking reinforcement hasn’t been mentioned too much, but Chelsea have lost out on a target.
Mohamed Kader Meite leaves Rennes for Al Hilal
Chelsea were listed as one of the clubs to watch for Mohamed Kader Meite just days ago.
However, it seems the striker, who is teammates with Jeremy Jacquet, has decided to pack his bags and head to Saudi Arabia.
Fabrizio Romano broke the news on his X account, stating that Kader Meite has agreed to join former Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly at Al Hilal.
‘Kader Meite to Al Hilal, here we go! Agreement in place with Rennes and also the player side right now. Fee around €30m, 18-year-old talent picks Al Hilal and Simone Inzaghi’s project seen as ideal step despite approaches from Premier League clubs. Meite set for medical next.’
What’s a fair price for George – and are you selling to THEM? 🫨

How could this affect the Jeremy Jacquet deal?
Chelsea are still working tirelessly to secure the signature of Jeremy Jacquet before the deadline.
But the sale of Kader Meite may just make things even harder for Chelsea.
Since Rennes has already secured a massive cash injection from selling one youngster, they are under zero financial pressure to sell Jacquet this month.
All the signs point towards Liam Rosenior having to wait until the summer, or potentially come to some kind of agreement where he’s loaned back to Rennes.
