Chelsea announce agreement reached for Premier League winner

Raheem Sterling has broken his silence on social media after his contract at Chelsea was terminated by mutual agreement after weeks of talks and constant transfer speculation regarding his future.

Sterling was the first big-money purchase of the BlueCo era, with the winger arriving for £47.5million from Manchester City in 2022, and many had hoped that he would bang in the goals, just like he managed at City under Pep Guardiola.

But the former England international has not made an appearance for the Blues over the past two seasons since being frozen out by Enzo Maresca in the summer of 2024. He spent last season on loan, but scored just once in 28 appearances in all competitions for Mikel Arteta’s side

Now, it has been revealed that he has left the club after Chelsea agreed to terminate his contract, A brief statement on Chelsea’s website read: ‘Raheem Sterling has today departed CHELSEA Football Club by mutual agreement, bringing to an end three-and-a-half seasons as our player, having signed in the summer of 2022 when he was transferred from Manchester City.

‘We thank Raheem for the contribution he made while a Chelsea player and wish him well for the next stage in his career.’

Following the announcement, Sterling released a short message on Metro, which said: ‘All eyes on the future. God is great.’

CHELSEA dont have too many concerns about him and were willing to end the saga over Sterling, he needed to leave the club as he was done when he went out on loan a few seasons ago.

It is just a massive shame that we did not get to see the best out of Sterling, but his best days were at City and he did not deserve that massive wage here
