Chelsea are running out of time to make any first-team additions, with just three days left of the January transfer window.
The January transfer window is always a difficult time to navigate, with teams scared to let their best players go and premium prices being floated about.
Chelsea have suffered due to this. Rennes continue to drive a hard price for Jeremy Jacquet, searching for a fee in the region of £57 million if he is to move this month.
Be honest: If Estevao avoids injuries, is he actually destined to be GREATER than Eden Hazard?

There is a desperation for Chelsea to get a deal done for Jacquet, especially as they believe he can become one of the best in the world.
And there has also been an update on their chase for a midfielder.
A new midfield signing for Chelsea is deemed as unlikely
According to Si Phillips’ substack, a central midfielder signing doesn’t seem likely, but his top sources fail to rule it out at this stage.
‘It is my opinion that I don’t believe we will sign one, but my top source did say yesterday that he’s been informed by his contacts to still keep an eye on new midfielders because Chelsea were still exploring that market for January. We’ll see. Cannot see it in the slightest, personally.’
N’Golo Kante was a name that was floated around, but he looks set to join Fenerbahce.
Meanwhile, there was talk of interest in Ruben Neves, which has fallen on deaf ears as he’s set to sign a new deal with his current club Al Hilal.

Chelsea would rather risk Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo
Chelsea’s current midfield options are Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Andrey Santos, who all started the game against Napoli.
The only other fit option for Liam Rosenior is Reece James, who has played there on the odd occasion.
Both Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo are currently sidelined, with the latter out for three weeks.
However, Rosenior is showing a lot of faith in Lavia, and he’s a favourite with some of the players. Moises Caicedo even said that he misses playing alongside the midfielder.
