Boss Mikel Arteta has provides his Arsenal team news for Saturday’s clash against Leeds United at Elland Road.
Arteta, though, has revealed that both players are now okay ahead of Saturday’s trip to Leeds for which Kai Havertz is also back in contention after recovering from injury.
German striker Havertz had been on the comeback trail from knee surgery in the summer and returned to action last month but missed last weekend’s 3-2 defeat at home to Manchester United.
“They've been carrying a few niggles”
Havertz, though, started Wednesday night’s Champions League clash and Arteta says there has been no reaction with the forward now also “ready” to face the Whites.
Speaking at Friday’s pre-match press conference, Arteta said of Timber and Saliba: “They are okay. Obviously they have played a lot of minutes, they've been carrying a few niggles.
“It was a really good opportunity for us to offload them a little bit and refresh them.”
Of Havertz, Arteta said: “He is ready. He started the other day. It has been a long period, but there was no reaction."
