Leeds vs Arsenal Prediction: Can Gunners Bounce Back at Elland Road?

Premier League leaders Arsenal have not won in three league games, but can they put that right on Saturday? Look ahead to the game at Elland Road with our Leeds vs Arsenal prediction and preview.

Leeds vs Arsenal: The Key Stats

Arsenal have won their last six Premier League matches against Leeds by an aggregate score of 20-5 and are the Opta supercomputer’s favourites to record another victory here (66.6%).

Leeds have never won a Premier League home game against the side starting the day at the top of the table (D7 L7).

Mikel Arteta’s side are looking to avoid suffering successive league defeats for the first time since December 2023.

Arsenal will look to get their Premier League title charge back on track against a resurgent Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday.

The Gunners are four points clear at the summit, though their cushion could have been more comfortable had their quest for a long-awaited first domestic crown in 22 years not faltered a little in recent weeks.

Following last weekend’s dramatic 3-2 defeat by Manchester United, they are now without a win in three league games (D2 L1).

Not since December 2023 have Arsenal suffered successive Premier League losses, and they will welcome the chance to face a side they have beaten in each of their last six league meetings by an aggregate score of 20-5.

The Gunners are currently on their longest ever winning run against Leeds, who they thumped 5-0 in August’s reverse fixture at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have now scored four or more goals in eight Premier League games against the Whites – only doing so more often against Everton in the competition (12) – while winning 4-1 on three of their last six visits to Elland Road, during which they are unbeaten (W4 D2).

Their momentum may have stalled in the league, but that is definitely not the case in the Champions League.

Though Arteta made 11 changes for the visit of bottom side Kairat on Wednesday, Arsenal’s narrow 3-2 victory was enough to secure top spot in the league-phase table with a 100% record (eight wins from eight).

Leeds were also flying high in the Champions League the last time they beat Arsenal at Elland Road in November 2000, when Olivier Dacourt’s deflected free-kick sealed a 1-0 win for David O’Leary’s side, who would go on to reach the semi-finals of Europe’s premier club competition that season.

Fast forward a quarter of a century and Daniel Farke’s men have climbed away from the relegation zone following a run of just one defeat in 10 Premier League matches (W3 D6).

No side has lost fewer games than Leeds since the start of December. They are also unbeaten in five home league matches, their longest streak in the top flight since a run of six between March and May 2021 (W3 D3).

However, they have never won a Premier League home game against the side starting the day at the top of the table (D7 L7), while losing all three such matches against Arsenal.

Farke’s hopes of ending that drought could be boosted by the return of Wales winger Daniel James from injury. Defender Gabriel Gudmundsson should also be available after a spell on the sidelines, though the Leeds boss may be reluctant to tweak his side too much, given their recent form.

After making 11 changes in midweek, Arsenal are likely name a side close to the one that started against Man Utd.

Kai Havertz scored on his first start in almost a year as the Germany forward played the opening 45 minutes against Kairat. Riccardo Calafiori also returned from injury and appeared for the first half of that game.

Meanwhile, Declan Rice could make his 300th Premier League appearance in this match. Aged 27 years and 17 days on the day, he would be the fifth-youngest player to reach the milestone after Wayne Rooney (26y 58d), James Milner (26y 117d), Gareth Barry (26y 247d) and Raheem Sterling (26y 348d).

Leeds vs Arsenal Head-to-Head

As mentioned, Arsenal are enjoying their longest ever winning run against Leeds, having won the last six Premier League meetings between the sides by an aggregate score of 20-5.

After their 5-0 rout in August’s showdown at the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners have scored four or more goals in eight different Premier League games against Leeds, only doing so more times in the competition against Everton (12).

Arsenal v Leeds stats 2025-26

Leeds, meanwhile, last beat Arsenal in a home league game in November 2000. Since then, they are without a win in six such matches (D2 L4), with three of those four defeats ending 4-1.
