Liverpool continue their pursuit of a top four spot in the Premier League when they host Newcastle United on Saturday evening.
Arne Slot’s defending champions have been well below par so far this term and currently sit sixth in the top flight standings, 14 points behind leaders Arsenal.
While their hopes of defending their crown have effectively disappeared, Slot will be desperate to guide his side to a top four finish and ensure they qualify for the Champions League next term.
Away from the action, however, it appears that those in charge of the club are planning for a future without one of their most important players.
As reported by Hooligan Soccer, Liverpool are eyeing a possible move for Bayern Munich star Michael Olise as a replacement for Mohamed Salah.
The report claims that the Reds are monitoring France international Olise, who has established himself as one of the best wingers in Europe since joining Bayern from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024.

Salah, 33, contributed a combined 57 goals and assists for Slot’s side last term but has been far less prolific this time around, and has also been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield.
The report claims that Liverpool would have to offload Salah in order to stand any chance of signing Olise due to the sums that would be required to afford the Frenchman’s wages.
Salah has previously been the subject of interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia – including Al Ittihad – and the report suggests that clubs in the Pro League are still interested in the Egyptian.
It remains to be seen whether that interest will materialise into an official offer but, if it were to, it appears that Liverpool could consider offloading Salah as they attempt to lure Olise back to England.
