Micah Richards claims Liam Rosenior has done something truly‘amazing’ at Chelsea

Despite not a lot of hype regarding his arrival as the new Chelsea manager, Liam Rosenior couldn’t have asked for things to go much better than they have been so far in West London.

The Blues have won five out of six games since Rosenior came in, including securing a top-eight finish in the Champions League following a big win against Napoli.

Steven Gerrard was full of praise for Rosenior after their victory in Italy, and he currently sits on a 100% win rate in the Premier League.

A lot of the Blues’ good work in this time has come in the absence of Cole Palmer too. His groin discomfort has not left him alone, although he proved his class in a second-half cameo in the Champions League.

The general performance level has been higher of late too, and this is something pundit Micah Richards has been quick to point out as a real positive.

He told ‘The Rest is Football‘ that he has been really impressed with how he has made an instant impact despite the rise in standards from Strasbourg to Chelsea.

He said: “The team look a lot more, I think, energised maybe was a word that I use. But for him to come from Strasbourg and then have instant impact after all the doubt at the start, it’s just amazing for him and for the players.

“I think there’s just that one question with Chelsea is, what they’re going to be satisfied with.”

Chelsea still not backing Liam Rosenior properly

It was reported before the new manager came in that Rosenior was seeking assurances in the January transfer market from the club.

With just days of the window to go, the Blues have still not made a permanent signing this month, despite interest in a new central defender.

Jeremy Jacquet has been at the top of the list for the Blues, however completing a deal this month has proved difficult due to Rennes’ desire to bank a club-record fee for his sale.

Jacquet has chosen Chelsea as his next club, although they could face serious competition for his signature if any move is postponed until the summer.
