After Kendall Jenner debuted her new Fanatics Sportsbook ad in which she makes fun of her penchant for NBA boyfriends, a photo on social media of the model apparently eating dinner with Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow went viral. That photo, however, is fake and likely created by AI.
In the ad for the Super Bowl, Kendall Jenner jokes that, after a multitude of NBA boyfriends, it’s now time for her to date a football player.
“Any basketball player who dates me kind of hits a rough patch,” Jenner explains .“While the world’s been talking about it, I’ve been betting on it. How else do you think I can afford all this… modeling?”
“But today, it’s time to bet on something new. Football players,” she says at the conclusion of the ad.
The viral picture of Kendall Jenner on Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s Instagram story is not real
Someone on social media clearly saw that as an opportunity to create some viral fake news, as they created a fake Instagram story that was seemingly from Burrow’s account.
The photo shows Burrow across the dinner table from Jenner, who is hiding behind her wine glass. In totality, it shows how far AI has come in recent years, but when you lock in on the details — notably whatever the hell monstrosity is on Burrow’s plate — it’s clear that the image is artificial.
The screenshot was also taken literally one second after the story was posted, which is also a tell.

Jenner’s history of dating NBA players is certainly extensive, as she’s previously been rumored to be romantically liked to Devin Booker, Jordan Clarkson, Blake Griffin, Ben Simmons, D’Angelo Russell, Chandler Parsons and Kyle Kuzma.
