Chelsea could strike a deal to allow one of their young talents to leave the club this month.
Everton are said to be eyeing a deal for a Chelsea star after being hit with a huge injury blow. It has been a solid season for the Toffees, who are in 10th and just one point off the final European spot as things stand.
David Moyes has done fine work since returning to Merseyside, and the Toffees are now hoping to cap a fine first season in their new stadium with European qualification.
But Everton will not be helped in their chase by the absence of one of their star men in loanee Jack Grealish. With two goals and six assists, Grealish has played a vital role for Everton this season, but having been out of late, the England international has now been ruled out for the season.
"We believe he's probably going to need surgery, but that's still not absolutely confirmed, Moyes said. “It probably rules him out for the rest of the season, yes.
“It's really disappointing for the player, and for the club and all of us. He's such an important part, a big character, big experience for us. We will miss him, he's done a lot of good things for us."
That’s a big blow for Everton and for Grealish, who likely faces a battle to make the England World Cup squad as a result of the injury.
Everton could turn to Chelsea starlet
According to The Athletic, Everton are now interested in a deal for Chelsea starlet Tyrique George, who could well leave the club on loan this month. George has struggled for game time, making only four Premier League appearances, and a loan move seems to be the best option for him and Chelsea, who will want the 19-year-old to continue his development with more regular football.
There has been some talk that Chelsea will sell George, with Fulham having offered around £22million at the end of the last window, but a loan now seems to be the likely scenario. The question then becomes whether there will be some sort of option to buy in the deal, and how much Chelsea ask for if they are consider such a deal.
Rosenior praise
Rosenior has spoken highly of George, but has also admitted the youngster could leave this month. He said: “The honest answer is I don't know. Tyrique is a player of immense potential who I've been aware of for a long time.
"He's been unfortunate. The first game against Charlton, he travelled with the group. He wasn't in the group. Yesterday he was on the bench. I've said this to the players, your background, whether you're an academy player, whether you've been signed for £100m, it's about what you do in training.
"I have to say his attitude to training and what I've seen his attitude in the group has been top class. So who's to know? A lot of things have to come together for a player to leave. You need the right interest. You need the right offer. It needs to be right for the player. At the moment, I've had nothing in terms of Tyrique, and I continue to work with him in the group."
