AN investigation is underway into a burglary at an address in Alderley Edge believed to be that of a celebrity couple.

Love Island star Maya Jama and Man City star Ruben Dias are believed to be the two victims according to the BBC.

Cheshire Police said the incident was on Wednesday, January 28, at a time when Jama would have been abroad for filming of an all-stars series of the dating show and Dias would been at a fixture in the Champions League.

There is no information on what is missing from the mansion, other than that it is 'a number of items' belonging to the celebrity couple, who have been together since last year after meeting at the MTV European Music Awards.

A police spokesperson said: "On Wednesday, January 28, police received reports of a burglary at an address in Alderley Edge.

"Enquiries are currently ongoing and anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or through the website."

On Friday, January 30, Man City manager Pep Guardiola was not on press conference duty due to a 'personal matter'.

In his place the club's assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders responded to a question about the break-in earlier in the week.

Lijnders said: "I did not speak with him personally but Ruben will come back on Monday to team training.

"These are the things you do not want to happen. We will support him and we will see how it goes from there."

Anyone can contact Cheshire Police on 101 or on cheshire.police.uk.

They can contact the crime charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
