Liam Rosenior says there's one Chelsea player he cannot wait to work with

Despite being at the club for weeks now, Liam Rosenior is still yet to properly work with all of his players at Chelsea.

Romeo Lavia and Levi Colwill are two players who are yet to play under Liam Rosenior at Chelsea, as they continue their recovery from injury.

It’s positive to see that Lavia is back in training and progressing. There’s just always that worry of him picking up yet another issue.

Moises Caicedo even wants Romeo Lavia back alongside him, and he’s been playing with two world-class players in the form of Enzo Fernandez and Andrey Santos.

But there’s another player whom Liam Rosenior is looking forward to properly working with.

Liam Rosenior issues an update on Levi Colwill’s injury

Colwill picked up a serious knee injury at the start of pre-season and has remained out since.

It was originally believed Colwill would be out for pretty much the whole season, but there is fresh hope after returning to the grass.

Liam Rosenior gave an update on Colwill in his pre-West Ham presser.

“I spoke to him this morning. He’s really good. What a professional. He’s working so hard. It’s been brilliant to see him back on the pitch running.

“He’s itching to get back. But we need to make sure he feels 100% perfect when he’s back.

“What a professional… I can’t wait to work with [him].”

Be honest: If Estevao avoids injuries, is he actually destined to be GREATER than Eden Hazard?

Levi Colwill’s importance to Chelsea

Levi Colwill established himself as the leader of Chelsea’s defense before his injury, and his absence has been felt massively. He has already captained the side on multiple occasions and was the hero who scored the decisive goal to secure Champions League qualification on the final day of last season.

As a left-footed, ball-playing center-back, his ability to break lines and composure under a high press make him the perfect player for Liam Rosenior’s system.

And Colwill is even one of three Chelsea players who have asked for a new deal.
