Hull City have concluded the signing of their latest arrival in the January transfer window, with Lewis Koumas joining on loan from Liverpool.

Koumas will spend the rest of the season at City and goes straight into the squad for Saturday's trip to struggling Blackburn Rovers, as Sergej Jakirovic's men look to make it four straight wins in the Championship and maintain their promotion surge.

The 20-year-old, who can play across the front third of the pitch as either a winger or striker, spent the first half of the season on loan at Birmingham City, where he played 25 times in league and cup.

His one goal came earlier this month in the 3-2 win over leaders Coventry City, and he had been playing recently for the Blues, having started the three games before he returned to Anfield and then came to East Yorkshire.

A senior Welsh international, Koumas is the son of former EFL star Jason, and was a target for City in the summer before he opted to join the Blues, after the Tigers were slapped with a fee restriction ban by the EFL.

Koumas will provide competition for Joe Gelhardt, Joel Ndala, Liam Millar and David Akintola on the flanks, but also provide support for strikers Oli McBurnie and Kyle Joseph.

The youngster, who spent last season on loan at Stoke City, adds to the long list of loanees in Jakirovic's squad, joining Gelhardt, Ndala, John Lundstram, Amir Hadziahmetovic, Yu Hirakawa and fellow new arrival from Manchester United, Toby Collyer.

Collyer's move from Old Trafford was also confirmed on Friday evening, and like Koumas, he was close to joining the Tigers in the summer, before he opted to move to West Brom.
