Indeed, a run of three consecutive victories – including putting in their best performance of the season last time out against Sunderland – have started to turn things around under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Indeed, West Ham fans are starting to feel positive again, even if there’s still an awful lot to do if they are to pull themselves out of the Premier League’s relegation zone.

Saturday’s trip to Stamford Bridge will be a difficult one but Blues boss Liam Rosenior is not taking it lightly.

The former Strasbourg boss hailed their ability to hit teams on the transition, noting that West Ham now looked very much like a Nuno side.

During his pre-match press conference, he said: “Nuno has put his stamp on his team. All his teams have been well organised off the ball.

“They’ve been very good in transition. Tomorrow is the biggest game of the season. I will find out so much. If you want to be a consistent winning team, these are the games you have to step forward.”

How many goals West Ham have scored from counter-attacks this season

West Ham have some brilliant players when looking to counter. Jarrod Bowen is a fine example of that, while Crysencio Summerville is in excellent form for West Ham on the opposite flank.

Adama Traore has also been brought in, and the Spaniard will no doubt help on that front.

Though West Ham do not top many Premier League metrics this season, they are among the most effective teams on the counter.

In fact, as per WhoScored data, they’ve scored four goals on the counter this season, the fifth highest number in the division.
