Why Joe Ingles had Draymond Green in stitches: ‘I'll slap the s— out of you’

Australian Boomers legend Joe Ingles still knows how to get a reaction in the NBA.

Sure, he may only be seeing sporadic game time for Minnesota this season, but the 38-year-old has always been an All-Star level trash talker and had Golden State veteran Draymond Green in stitches during the Timberwolves’ recent match-up with the Warriors.

Speaking on [The Draymond Green Show](https://youtube.com/shorts/PNXZiQIW0wM?si=p7mng_gHayCYaMOL), the four-time NBA champion—himself well known for the ability to antagonise opponents—recounted the moment his Warriors teammate Quinten Post, 25, was sledged by Ingles as he lined up to shoot free throws.

“Funny moment in the game with Joe Ingles telling QPR, ‘I’ll slap the s— out of you’,” Green chuckled.

“You know the young guys, they only know old Joe. They don’t know Joe that first came into the league 12, 13 years ago. Young Joe was actually into stuff all the time, man. Young Joe would mix it up with you.”

Green went on to explain Ingles’ tenacity and refusal to take a backward step during his 739-game NBA career is a trait common in the many of the Aussies now playing across the league.

“That’s the Australian way,” Green said.

“One thing an Aussie gonna do, they gonna mix it up with you. Like, that is just who they are, as a people they got that tenacity. They play with that tenacity.

“It’s funny to see Joe get out there and get into it with QP. (Warriors teammate) Pat Spencer’s tap on the chest of QP, like, hey, man, chill out. Come on, man, come out.... man, hilarious moment.”
