Man Utd are just one of three English teams who have been “sending scouts” to see RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande in action, according to journalist Christian Falk.
Writing on his website, CF Bayern Insider, Falk claimed that Arsenal have joined the Red Devils and Liverpool in tracking the 19-year-old:
“It is TRUE: Premier League clubs, like Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal, have been sending scouts to attend the Red Bull Arena to watch Yan Diomande.”

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are also keen on recruiting Diomande, but Falk says the German side fear being priced out:
“Bayern Munich are a little worried about this, as they don’t want to spend the kind of money that Premier League clubs can. They like Diomande. He’d be a player who would perfectly fit the kind of profile they’re looking for. But in the end, if they have to spend so much money – and they are talking about €100m [£87m] – that’s too much for Bayern Munich.”
Why is there so much hype around Diomande?
The teenager has been playing professionally for less than a year, but he has already shown what he is capable of in the Bundesliga and the African Cup of Nations.
Diomande has pace and plenty of raw talent, and if it can be refined, he could become one of the most dangerous wide players in world football.
Man Utd want to recruit a left winger
It was reported earlier this week that Director of Football Jason Wilcox and the recruitment team are keen on reinforcing the left flank during the summer transfer window.
The change to a back four and a conventional front three means the Red Devils are lacking traditional wingers, and Diomande is one of four options under consideration. You can read about the other three in our post here.
