Payton Pritchard is the Celtics ‘Name to Know’ Player of the Game in Friday’s win over Kings

The Celtics bounced back in a big way, blowing out the Kings 112-93 on Friday at TD Garden. The C’s were up by 26 points by halftime and Sacramento never made it a game from there. The Celtics improved to 30-18 on the season.

Payton Pritchard was on fire, making him Friday’s “Name to Know” Player of the Game. The Name to Know Player of the Game is sponsored by John’s Sewer and Drain Cleaning, the Name to Know when your drains don’t flow.

Pritchard finished with 29 points and eight assists as he was lights out from the field. He shot 12-for-16 on field goals and 5-for-6 on 3-pointers. It was a stellar night from the starting guard with Jaylen Brown getting the night off.

Pritchard was blunt the starters weren’t good enough in their loss to the Hawks on Wednesday. He credited the bench, but the starters couldn’t finish the job in the loss. But the Celtics had no issues dispatching the Kings, overwhelming them offensively.

The victory allowed the C’s to empty out their bench by the end of the night. Boston had been in a bit of a lull over the past couple weeks, but it dominated a bad Sacramento team to get back in the win column.

The Celtics have another opportunity to add to the win column against a lost Bucks team coming in Sunday. Milwaukee is just 18-28 on the year. Giannis Antetokounmpo is also nursing a calf injury, plus his name is in trade rumors with than a week to go until the trade deadline.
