The Lithuanian star kept it straightforward as he stands as one of the key names to watch ahead of the league's Feb. 5 trade cutoff.
Domantas Sabonis is only controlling what he can control for the Sacramento Kings in the wake of the intensifying trade noise around his name.

Speaking to Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee, the Lithuanian star addressed the trade talks with just less than a week left before the Feb. 5 deadline.
“There’s nothing you can do,” Sabonis said. “You just try to ignore it. I’m here right now, and we’re just trying to go out there and play as well as we can.”
Sabonis is included on the checklist of league circles within the trade market this year. Several teams like the hicago Bulls, Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards have been linked to his service, wherein the Kings have already placed a demand for him in a potential trade.
He missed most of this 2025-26 season due to a partially torn meniscus in his left knee. He appeared in 18 games so far, averaging 15.4 points, 11.2 boards and 4.2 assists.
Sabonis arrived in Sacramento from the Indiana Pacers in 2022. He was a huge part of the Kings' epic 2022-23 season that snapped the franchise's historic 16-consecutive playoff absences.
Amid eventual struggles and disappointments since then, in which both De'Aaron Fox and Mike Brown already left him behind, Sabonis still found a home in Sac-town. For this, the weight of trade rumors is now heavier for him to carry.
“It’s definitely different this time,” Sabonis said. “I’ve got kids, so you’ve got to think about that, but on the court it’s the same thing.
"I forget everything once I’m in between those lines and the goal is just to help your team win.”
