Arsenal are keen to look to sign some of the best young players in world football and a Real Madrid wonderkid is next on their list

Arsenal have one of the strongest squads in the Premier League after years of building under Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners are top of the Premier League as they eye their first title since 2004. It has been a quiet month on the transfer front for the North London side, as club bosses are confident in the players currently at their disposal.

He made his first team debut last month but is attracting interest from several of Europe’s top clubs and according to BBC Sport, he has a release clause of £43m in his contract. His deal with the Spanish giants runs until the summer of 2029.

The 19-year-old has made one senior appearance for Madrid, as he started at left-back in a 2-1 win over Alaves last month.

He can play at centre-back and left-back, so could offer versatility to Arteta if Arsenal successfully pursued a move for him.

Four Four Two describe the player as somebody with “supreme strength” and who is also “deceptively speedy”.

Arsenal have plenty of strength in depth at centre-back with William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie all at the club while full-backs Ben White, Jurrien Timber and Ricardo Calafiori can also move into central defence if needed.

On Friday, Arteta was asked about title rivals Manchester City getting deals done for Marc Guehi and Antoine Semenyo.

“That is their business. I know what they're going to do and what they've been doing over the last 10-15 years. So obviously not surprised. They want to win and they will do everything to win,” he responded.

He was then asked if Arsenal were looking to complete any late January deals.

The Spaniard replied: “Not because of them, because if we have any issues, we need to be on top of that. But that's not a surprise. They did it as well last year, very aggressively when it was needed. We have our ambitions, but we also have our own restrictions. We need to know what we have to do, what we can do and what we believe is the right thing to do.”
