Here is the top Chelsea transfer news from icfootballnews that you may have missed from the past 24 hours guys…
Rennes star Jeremy Jacquet is reportedly holding out for a transfer move to Chelsea this January window or at the end of the season, despite strong interest from several top teams.
It has been claimed that the player has asked to join CHELSEA, the club have come to an agreement over a deal for the defender and it was only a matter of time before an announcement was made by the clubs hierarchy.
However – in recent weeks the possible move has stalled because Chelsea seemingly do not want to meet the asking price that has been set by the French club, but that does not seem to be the end of the saga.
In a fresh twist, L’Equipe have reported that Chelsea could indeed return with an offer this month, and that Rennes could end up accepting an offer if one arrives worth 50million euros or more, which is £43.3million
Now, Sky Sports report that Jacquet has privately ‘expressed a preference’ to complete a switch to Stamford Bridge, which could prove decisive in determining what the future holds for the Rennes star.
French football expert Julian Laurens recently compared the talented Jacquet to Arsenal star William Saliba: ‘I think he is the real deal,’ Laurens told Sky Sports. ‘I know he’s only 20 and has very little experience, even in Ligue 1 because he hasn’t played for France or in the Champions League or even the Europa League.
‘There’s still a long time to go for him but he’s been impressive since he was recalled from his loan in the second division last season.
‘He’s a player Liam Rosenior will know because he’s played against him and seen him in action. You can’t get it wrong, really, because he is amazing and he is going to be amazing.
‘He reminds me a bit of William Saliba when he burst onto the scene in France at Saint-Etienne.
‘The question is how much do they value the potential and talent because he’s only 20 and you’re paying a lot for someone who hasn’t proved much because he hasn’t played many games.
‘So how much are CHELSEA ready to pay? Rennes want more than Man City paid for Doku which was 64m euros. So Chelsea will need to pay at least £60m which is a lot of money for such a young player.’
JACOB HALL SIGNS UP
Chelsea fc have now come out and announced that Academy defender Jacob Hall has signed his first professional contract with the club following his 17th birthday.
CHELSEA have been in the headlines alot over the past few weeks, as there has been constant reports linking them with some big names, and then some of the most exciting young players in world football, but they have not really brought in any new faces.
However – they also have one of the best academies in the Premier League and have been working very hard over the past few weeks making sure that the talents are all signed up to new contracts, and some even getting their very first professional deals with the clubs.
Now the decision has been made to hand Defender Hall his first professional contract following his 17th birthday, the Blues posted on the club website: ‘Hall has been a Blue since joining us during his Under-9s season and has developed into a composed centre-back.
‘While still a schoolboy during his Under-16s campaign, Hall was handed his Under-18s debut, marking an important step in his progression through the Academy.
‘Since signing his scholarship in July, he has gone on to make seven more appearances across Under-18s competitions this season, alongside two appearances in the Under-17 Premier League Cup.
‘Congratulations, Jacob!’
IcFootballnews Says…
The lad is one of number of talented stars that have agreed contracts over the past few weeks, so the news that he has agreed a deal himself will be massive for the lad as he wants to try and break into that Blues first team.
He will now probably get a few loan moves in the coming seasons, in order to get some first-team experience, and honestly talking may get sold on in the future as CHELSEA have one of the biggest squads in football and dont have much space for the talents to try and make an impact.
But it is still a massive moment for the lad and he needs to enjoy this moment.
JAMES SENDS COLE PALMER MESSAGE
Chelsea captain Reece James has opened up on the future of Cole Palmer, and claimed that the shock Manchester United target is fully committed to the club and has no intention of departing Stamford Bridge in the coming windows.
Signed from Man City just a few seasons ago, Palmer has developed into one of the most creative players that CHELSEA have in the squad, and a man that has already shipped over 80 goals for the Blues in his first few seasons with the club.
However – this season he has really struggled with injuries and getting back to his very best, and despite being one of the clubs best players, there has been alot of transfer speculation in the media that he is not happy in London and would like to make that return back to Manchester.
WHAT HAS JAMES SAID ON COLE PALMER?
Captain James, who has also been linked with a move away from the club, has opened up and told Blues fans that Palmer is s fully committed to the club, which will be music to alot of worried Blues fans – Speaking in the mixed zone after the Blues’ win over Napoli, James said: “He’s been in a difficult period. He’s had a few setbacks, it’s been slow for him this season, but we’re super happy to have him.
“He showed what he can do today in the 45 minutes that he played. Everyone needs to be patient with him. He’s an amazing player, he’s still super young. He’s going to improve with time.
“Of course he’s committed to Chelsea. He’s a Chelsea player and many players have speculation in transfer windows, it’s normal, but he’s conducted himself really well and we’re happy with him.”
WILL COLE PLAMER LEAVE CHELSEA?
A long contract that lasts until 2029, a nice massive wage to keep him happy for a few years, a big chance of winning trophies with Chelsea under Liam Rosenior, there will be no harm in Palmer staying to see what happens over the next 12 months or so.
There will always be rumours about the big players at a club like CHELSEA, especially the longer they go without winning trophies etc, but Blues fans dont really need to worry as Palmer will not be going anywhere.
Man United are not the force they once werer, they cant pat that £150 million asking price and then give him the kind of money he demands, Chelsea is the right place for him to be at this stage of his career.
